Altru Chemists + Compounding Pharmacy

I can’t believe it took me this long to switch from a big chain to Altru Chemists here in Greenpoint. It’s such a breath of fresh air to be greeted warmly by a thoughtful pharmacy team (Lev is great). They’re incredibly considerate and on top of things, especially when it comes to tracking down prescriptions that are hard to find elsewhere and sorting out insurance issues quickly. I used to dread going to the pharmacy, but Altru genuinely makes it a joy. Thank you, Altru!

Altru Chemists is a great pharmacy and I've been going there for years. Lev & the team are always helpful in getting exactly the medicine I need and navigating the hostile minefields of health insurance. Heartily recommend them! ... And if you're still getting your medications from a big box store please, please, make your life better and easier by switching to an independent pharmacy like this one.

I never leave reviews but over the last year I have had by far the best pharmacy experience in all my 12 years in New York. This is not a big box chain and you can feel the difference — they truly care about helping you and doing what’s right for their customers. Cannot recommend their team, especially Lev, enough

Very personal care and super helpful pharmacists! They make sure the generic brand of a medication (bc I'm allergic to other brands!) is always in stock when I need a refill, and the brand is really hard to find. Considering how hard it is to find a consistently helpful pharmacist, I do genuinely appreciate that they go the extra mile.

I’ve been a lucky customer for about 20 years. This place has to offer nothing but care, knowledge of their customers health and needs, amazing quality European skin care products and flexible last moment requests. This place is not just pharmacy, it’s a family. Lev and Macy have been there for as long as I go there. The best pharmacists and very kind people as everyone who works there.
